FEV acquires D2T Powertrain Engineering from IFP Investissements

The acquisition of the French test systems and engineering service provider extends the company’s engineering capacity and expands its product and service portfolio

Aachen/ Paris, March 24, 2015 – FEV GmbH, headquartered in Aachen, Germany has announced the acquisition of French test systems and engineering service provider D2T Powertrain Engineering S.A. This action was announced by the management boards of both companies. FEV GmbH takes over the business of D2T in France, its subsidiaries in Germany, China, the U.S. and interests in South Korea and Japan.

Through this strategic expansion, FEV, a leading provider of engineering services for powertrain and vehicle technologies expands its expertise in the test systems business area, in particular.  "D2T not only offers products and services which fit seamlessly into our portfolio," explains Prof. Stefan Pischinger, president and CEO of the FEV Group, "but our continuing international expansion will also benefit from D2T’s global subsidiaries." The acquisition represents an extension of FEV’s worldwide testing and development resources to meet growing demands in its various geographic operating regions.

Strategic Growth of Test Systems Business
"Following the expansion of our electronics and automotive engineering competence with the acquisition of DGE Inc. in 2013, we see this acquisition as an opportunity to significantly grow our Test Systems as well as engineering divisions internationally," explained Pischinger. "The acquisition of D2T will enable us to serve our customers even more comprehensively in the future." The strategic acquisition is complementary with a worldwide expansion of FEV's capabilities. A new test and development center is currently being built in Beijing, China, and the durability test center (DLP) in Brehna, Germany and the company’s headquarters in Aachen are also being gradually extended.
