FEV North America, Inc. integrates Eclypses’ MicroToken Exchange to enhance cyber security

Software, combined with FEV hardware/software integration, creates strongest security for end-to-end communications

Two cyber security leaders have joined forces to create an impenetrable system to lock out cyber threats to smart vehicle integrity. FEV North America, Inc. (FEV) has integrated MicroToken Exchange (MTE) technology developed by Eclypses, the leading MicroEncryption™ systems developer, into its FEV Cyber Security Gateway, providing the strongest security for end-to-end communications.

The technology will be demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2018. The demonstrations will take place in the FEV Hospitality Suite at the Bellagio Hotel.

The MTE is an ideal companion to FEV’s Gateway and development platform, being lighter and more robust than traditional encryption. It replaces a command with a MicroToken just before transmission and is compatible with any communication protocol, making it ideal for use in smart vehicle architectures. Once the transmission packet has reached the receiver it is then translated back into the original command by referencing a paired library.

Integrating the MTE into FEVs gateway can also accelerate smart vehicle development, as the system can be quickly integrated into research vehicles, which is very beneficial to customers to get development started early in the engineering phase.
