FEV Racing taking part in 24-Hour Race at Nürburgring in a SEAT Cupra

Aachen, May 3, 2018 – For the past 46 years, the 24-hour endurance race on the legendary Nordschleife track has been one of the absolute highlights on the international motorsports calendar. In 2018, once again, over 150 teams will compete against one another on the 24 kilometers of “Green Hell” over the long Ascension Day weekend. Also participating this year will be the team from FEV Racing.

After returning to motorsports in 2017, the FEV Racing’s SEAT Cupra in the up-and-coming class of TCR is one of the fastest vehicles at the VLN Endurance Championship. The team immediately picked up where it left off at the end of the highly successful 2017 premiere season with a victory in its first race of the season this year. Following another strong showing in the second run, the team is now preparing for the undisputed highlight of the season: the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race.

The members of FEV Racing make up a true Team Aachen, not just because they are based in Aachen at the facilities of FEV (where the crew is preparing the car for the race), but four local heroes, Arndt Hallmanns, Wolfgang Haugg, Andre Gies, and Benedikt Gentgen will also be in attendance to represent Aachen and its surrounding communities. Together, they will test their driving skills on the Nordschleife and prove that the cross-border region has successfully anchored motorsports to Aachen’s mainstay sports clubs alongside soccer (Alemannia Aachen), horse riding (CHIO), and volleyball (Ladies in Black premiere league team).

With its spectacular starting field, unpredictable weather, and specific challenges on what is probably the most demanding track in the world, the 24-Hour Race has been challenging drivers and material like no other since 1970. With access to the paddock and numerous opportunities to follow the race at the various positions along the track, fans are being offered a chance to experience motorsports up close in all its glory.
Over the past few years, a quarter of a million spectators have gathered at the track to watch this racing spectacle on location. What’s more, 15 international TV channels will broadcast the race live. In Germany, RTL Nitro will spend 25 hours without interruption reporting on what is also known as the “Race through Green Hell.”
